Sary-Bulak Lake refers to a group of small alpine water bodies located in the central Tian Shan mountain pasture zones of Kyrgyzstan. The area is characterized by open jailoo landscapes, rolling highland valleys, and seasonal lakes formed by snowmelt. These lakes are not a single large permanent lake but rather a system of small basins and ponds that expand significantly during late spring and summer. The surrounding terrain is typically used for nomadic grazing, with wide grasslands and distant views of mountain ranges such as At-Bashy and Kyrgyz Ala-Too. The Sary-Bulak area is also associated with nearby trekking corridors connecting Kochkor, Song-Kul, and Naryn regions. Because of its altitude and exposure, the lake environment changes dramatically between seasons—often frozen or dry in early spring and fuller in mid-summer.
