Jeti-Oguz Gorge, whose name means “Seven Bulls” in Kyrgyz, is named after the dramatic red sandstone rock formation that resembles seven giant bulls standing side by side. Another famous landmark is the “Broken Heart” rock, associated with a local romantic legend. The gorge is located about 25 km southwest of Karakol and stretches deep into the Terskey Ala-Too mountains. The landscape combines red cliffs, green forests, alpine meadows, and snow-capped peaks. Visitors can enjoy: Hiking to panoramic viewpoints Trekking to waterfalls and high alpine pastures Horseback riding through scenic valleys Staying in traditional yurts during summer Photography of unique red rock formations Visiting local sanatoriums and eco-resorts Jeti-Oguz is accessible year-round, but it is especially beautiful in summer when the valley is covered in green meadows and wildflowers.
