Kok-Moinok River Valley is part of the broader Tuyuk–Issyk-Ata gorge system in the northern Kyrgyz Ala-Too mountains. The valley is formed by a mountain river that flows through forested slopes, narrow rocky sections, and alpine meadows before joining the Issyk-Ata river basin. The valley is divided into branches, with Kok-Moinok representing the western extension. It is characterized by dense Tien Shan spruce forests, mixed shrub zones, and steep alpine terrain. The river is fed by snowmelt and small mountain springs, creating a strong seasonal flow in late spring and summer. At higher elevations, the valley opens into subalpine zones where Kok-Moinok Lake is located at around 2,700 meters. Above this, a mountain pass (around 2,900–3,300 meters) connects it with neighboring valleys, making it part of a larger trekking network. This area has become increasingly popular for hiking due to its accessibility from Bishkek combined with relatively untouched nature.
