Fergana Range is a rugged mountain range located in the southwestern part of Kyrgyzstan, bordering the Fergana Valley. It forms part of the Western Tian Shan system and serves as a natural divide between fertile lowlands and high alpine terrain. The range is characterized by steep rocky slopes, deep river gorges, and dense forests, especially famous for walnut and fruit tree ecosystems in nearby valleys such as Arslanbob. The region plays an important ecological and cultural role due to its biodiversity and traditional rural settlements. Unlike more tourist-developed areas, the Fergana Range remains relatively remote, offering raw mountain landscapes, hiking routes, and access to less-explored wilderness zones of southern Kyrgyzstan.
