🇰🇬 Kyrgyzstan
Chychkan Gorge is one of the most scenic and ecologically rich valleys in western Kyrgyzstan. It stretches along the Chychkan River and forms a key natural corridor between the Suusamyr Valley (north) and the Toktogul Reservoir (south). The gorge sits at an average altitude of around 2,200 meters and is covered with dense Tien Shan spruce forests, alpine meadows, and wild berry vegetation. Its river flows rapidly through the valley before reaching the Toktogul Reservoir. Chychkan is a classic “highway gorge,” meaning the Bishkek–Osh road passes directly through it, making it one of the most photographed and accessible natural landscapes in the country. It is also known for trout fishing, honey production, and roadside eco-stops.
