Discover Jeti-Oguz Peaks – Issyk-Kul, Kyrgyzstan Alpine Pyramid Mountain Group

Jeti-Oguz Peaks form a striking mountain wall at the southern edge of the Jeti-Oguz Valley in eastern Kyrgyzstan. The range rises sharply from red sandstone cliffs and forested slopes into high alpine peaks and glaciers of the Tian Shan. The most recognizable summit is the pyramid-shaped Jeti-Oguz Peak (~3,632m), visible from the valley floor and known for its sharp triangular silhouette blending forest, canyon, and snowline landscapes. Higher in the same massif lies the Oguz-Bashi peak (~5,170m), one of the dominant summits of the region. The area is a classic transition zone: red rock formations at the base (“Seven Bulls” cliffs), dense spruce forests in the middle, and glaciated alpine terrain above. This makes it one of the most visually diverse mountain systems in Kyrgyzstan. The peaks are popular among trekkers and climbers, with routes passing through Kok-Jayik meadows, Yrdyk Valley, and Kumbel Pass, often used for hiking, horseback travel, and ski touring in winter.
