Discover Aksu (Ak-Suu) Valley – Issyk-Kul Region, Kyrgyzstan Forested Canyon with Hot Springs & Waterfalls

Ak-Suu Valley is one of the most important mountain valleys in the Terskey Ala-Too range, located just east of Karakol city. The valley follows the Ak-Suu River, which cuts through narrow granite canyons before opening into wider forested sections. The lower gorge is known for its steep rock walls and fast-flowing river, while higher sections feature dense Tien Shan spruce forests, alpine meadows, and glacial tributaries. The valley is also famous for natural thermal hot springs and a long-standing sanatorium area used for wellness and recovery. Deeper into the gorge, trails lead toward waterfalls, moraine lakes, and high alpine terrain connected to larger trekking systems in the Karakol–Altyn Arashan region. It is one of the key access corridors for multi-day expeditions in eastern Kyrgyzstan.
